Privacy Policy

Your progress lives in your browser's local storage: your explorer identity (a codename, region, avatar and optional home country you choose), your XP, levels, streaks, achievements, and which countries you've uncovered. Clearing your browser data removes it.

To power leaderboards, friends, and live multiplayer, we create an anonymous account for you — a random identifier, not tied to your name or email. Alongside it we keep the same progression data (codename, avatar, XP, level, run scores) and, for multiplayer, room membership and match results. Our backend runs on Supabase.

If you choose to link an email to your explorer (so your progress survives a new device), we store that email to identify your account. If you send feedback, we keep your message and any contact detail you include so we can follow up.

• Supabase — hosts our database, authentication, and realtime multiplayer.
• Google (Gemini)— generates optional, non-authoritative "fun facts." The country name is sent to produce a blurb; we don't send your identity.
• Live map layers — public feeds (e.g. the ISS position, recent earthquakes, elevation tiles) are fetched to display real-world data.

No advertising, no third-party trackers, no selling or renting your data. We only use cookies / local storage that the game needs to function (there is no marketing tracking).

GeoPlay is suitable for all ages and does not require personal information to play. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children beyond the optional identity you choose.

You can wipe local progress any time by clearing your browser data. To delete a server-side account or request a copy of your data, contact us at [privacy@geoplay.example].

We may update this policy as the game evolves. Material changes will be noted here with a new "last updated" date.
